Taylor J. Knight
Doctor of Audiology
Hello, I am Dr. Taylor Knight and I am originally from Lake Chelan, WA. I earned my Bachelors of Arts Degree from Washington State University in 2014 and my Doctor of Audiology Degree from Pacific University in 2017. Previously, I worked as a resident at Virginia Mason Medical Center in downtown Seattle, WA and as a Clinical Audiologist at Cascade Ear Nose & Throat in Mount Vernon and Anacortes, WA. I am very excited to be in the Puget Sound area working with patients on improving the quality of their hearing health. I find so much joy in helping people remember what it is like to hear better in their environments and with their families or friends.
I personally love spending time with my own family, including my rambunctious little 1 year old son, Griffin! We felt like this area, near family, was the perfect place to raise our sweet little boy. We enjoy being outdoors, meeting new people, trying new restaurants, and traveling back to Lake Chelan for family vacations.
Jake Barber, Au.D.
Dr. Jacob Barber (please, call him Jake!) is originally from Jacksonville, FL. He earned his Bachelors of Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and his Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN. Prior to working with patients at Peninsula Hearing, he was part of the staff at an ENT (ear, nose, and throat physician) office in Athens, GA. While working there, he met his wonderful partner, Annabel, who now works as a licensed mental health counselor in Washington. If Jake is fortunate enough to have you as a patient, chances are he will rant/rave about Annabel at some point.
He and Annabel packed all their belongings in a UHaul truck and drove (coast to coast!) to Port Townsend in June 2020. They have quickly grown to love the natural beauty, as well as the fascinating culture, that abound here. As a longtime guitarist and aspiring percussionist, Jake finds real excitement and joy in connecting people to sound, an area of sensory perception that has endlessly fascinated and moved him. He is happy to hear about the music you have been listening to lately and perhaps make some recommendations himself!
In his spare time, Jake is enthusiastically exploring the Olympic Peninsula and all it has to offer. So far, his favorite spots include Rialto Beach, Chimacum Rock, and Hurricane Ridge. Additionally, the musical exploration never stops! While playing his guitar, he’s known to conjure jazz, blues, and rock and roll, as well as passages heavily influenced by bands that emerged from Washington in the late 1980s/1990s. If all else fails, Jake can be found spending time with Annabel watching comedy shows or reading books that Annabel highly recommends.
Director of Operations
Matt has been with Peninsula Hearing since December of 2006 and has brought with him 25 years' experience in Human Resources, Customer Service, Communications and Training. “If there is one health issue that 90% of the time seems to sit on the back burner, it’s our hearing. If I can help the folks in our community to take care of their hearing as well as their teeth or eyes, then I have helped make a difference in their overall health. When people come to visit us and trust us with their hearing health they are going to find a staff that is warm, friendly, anxious to help and dare I say it, fun! “

Emily joined our Peninsula Hearing team in 2019. She comes to us with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and many years as an elementary school teacher. Emily’s bright smile and attitude helps her to care for our patients and make each visit run as smooth as possible. She strives to have everyone she comes across leave with a smile, even over the phone. “I love when a patient who has just put on their new hearing aids tells me all the things they are looking forward to doing now that they can hear.” Growing up in the northwest, Emily enjoys the beauty here that is unequaled anywhere else.
